Earning Respect and Influence – A harsh look: The future of advocacy in modern times

A UDV Conference like no other before it!

This is not a show where you might expect to hear more of the same – strategies for managing tough times, water allocations or low milk prices. Instead, we address our challenges from a different angle to explore how to influence others, change attitudes and create a prosperous future for dairy farming.

The 2010 VFF Grains Group Conference, to be held at the Wimmera Machinery Field Days site in Horsham from 29 – 31 March, giving Victorian grain growers the opportunity to participate in a series of issues based workshops and hear from a number of influential industry representatives.

As well as the opportunity to set the direction of the Grains Group through resolutions and debate, members will be able to choose from six workshops to participate in, covering a range of topics including biotechnology for women farmers, grain transport, financial planning, grain marketing, seed choices and fertiliser options.

The workshop topics are relevant to today’s growers, and the VFF has invited some of Victoria’s preeminent industry leaders to host the workshops, including representatives from the Molecular Plant Breeding Cooperative Research Centre, Vic Roads, the Australian Fertiliser Services Association and financial planners RBS Morgans.

The Conference will also feature panel sessions on two of the biggest issues facing Victorian gain growers: Deregulation: were we ready for it?; and Corporate vs Family Farming: can they coexist?

The business of our Annual General Meetings include receiving the Annual Reports, adoption of financial statements, and consideration of any other matters that members have given in writing (at least 28 days notice required) to the Chief Executive Officer.
