The VFF Grains Group aims to maximise returns to members and ensure their long-term viability, as well as helping to ensure the industry's ongoing competitiveness and profitability.

The Grains Group is an effective representative body for Victorian grain growers. In addition to being a successful lobby group, a high priority is to become directly involved with schemes and activities that will improve returns to its members. Outcomes are achieved by development and promotion of policies and through liasing with members, peak industry bodies and all levels of government.
Important areas of policy development include:

• 
  Enhancing on-farm production through reducing farm costs and encouraging increased productivity; 
• Encouraging efficient storage, handling and transport; 
• Fostering research and development through priority setting and assisting the transfer of knowledge to farmers; 
• Promoting education and training for growers, future growers and those servicing the grains industry; and 
• Facilitating regular consultation and communication mechanisms with members.
