The second President of the Victorian Farmers and Graziers Association was Mr Des Crowe who was the inaugural President of the Cattle Council of Australia from 1979 until 1982.

Mr Crowe was also the Chairman of the Pastoral Division of the Australian Primary Producers Union and he was also involved in the organising of farming bodies into a national body, which is now the National Farmers Federation.

Upon the death of Mr Miles Bourke, Mr Crowe assumed the position of VFGA President, a position he held until 1986.

Mr Crowe is a fat lamb producer from south-west Victoria.
