The first chicken farmer to head the Victorian Farmers Federation, Wally Shaw ran a highly successful chicken farm near Red Hill in Victoria.

While Mr Shaw was the Deputy President of the VFF from 1992 to 1995, he will long be remembered for the work he did with Chicken Meat industry organisations, where he served as President for an unprecedented 25 years, 1969 to 1995.

A former Chair of the VFF Land Management Committee from 1990 until 1995, Wally led the VFF through difficult times, with his term coinciding with the onset of the worst drought in Australia for one hundred years.

Wally sadly passed away in December 2002.
