In times of fire, drought, locusts and other threats to the agricultural community the VFF plays a central role in control and recovery.

The State Government relies on the VFF’s network of 230 branches as a link to the rural community. For example during 2005's bushfires the VFF played a central role in coordinating stock feed and replacement fencing for the areas affected.

The VFF's industrial service provides farmer focused Industrial advice, available at a minimal cost to all VFF members, including the information packed VFF Employment Handbook. The Handbook provides essential information on Occupational Health & Safety, Federal Awards, Workers Compensation, Right of Entry and so much more. Industrial Services members also receive free unlimited telephone advice and on a fee for service basis AWA’s and collective agreements tailored to your workplace.
