The VFF Grains Group is an active link between its members and the broader grains industry. With membership including more than 60 percent of Victorian grain growers, including cereal, legume and seed growers, the VFF Grains Group is a democratic and representative grower voice to industry and government.
The VFF Grains Group is able to offer grains members a number of services which will directly benefit their ability maximise their farming business and assist them to make the most out of the new grain marketing arrangements.
Grains members can contact the VFF Grains Group and request a credit reference check on any grain trader or individual who they are considering selling grain to. This information will assist growers in making a truly informed choice.
Members are also able to purchase transport consignment notes which provide clear documentation to ensure you have records of all the grain moving off farm.
Our Alliance with grain brokers Agfarm gives VFF members access to up to date pricing information and more than 100 grain buyers. Members have been able to maximise returns for their grain and access new markets.
The VFF Grains Group is also working closely with Victorian farmer research groups to promote cooperation and collaboration. Ensuring all grain growers can access information and benefit from the dollars going into Research, Development and Extension.

Grains Group President
Andrew Weidemann was elected to lead Victorian Growers at the 2011 VFF Grains Conference in March 2011. Andrew is a third generation farmer having farmed in Rupanyup his entire life.
He has an advanced diploma in agriculture and a long history of involvement in the VFF, having held the position of VFF Grains Group Senior Vice President from 2009 – 10 and being part of the VFF Grains Council for seven years.
He is heavily involved in agricultural industry representation, currently holding the positions of Director of Grains Producers Australia (GPA); Deputy Chairman of Birchip Cropping Group’s (BCG) Farmer Research Group; and Longernong College Advisory Committee Member.
Andrew brings a wealth of experience from within the grains industry to the role. On his property in Rupanyup, where he lives his wife Julie and three children, he currently produces wheat, barley, canola, broad beans, chic peas, field peas, lentils, oaten and vetch hay.
