MIGRATION ADVICE FOR OUR MEMBERS
UDV has formed a partnership with True Blue Migration (TBM) to offer UDV members specialist advice on immigration matters. As part of our commitment to offer more services to members, UDV members will now receive a 5% discount on TBM’s visa management fee.
With their down-to-earth nature, detailed industry knowledge and client-focused migration agency, UDV is confident TBM will be able to service members’ immigration needs. TBM directors Maryanne Gruar and Joy Hay are sisters, born and raised on a sheep and hay farm in Tahara, west of Hamilton, Victoria.
ABOUT TRUE BLUE MIGRATION
TBM is a family-owned migration agency and it takes pride in offering a hands-on and personalised approach to managing client cases. TBM also offers a "No Visa, No Fee" guarantee, which is quite rare in the migration industry. They only take on a case when they are very confident of a successful outcome.
TBM help employers to sponsor overseas nationals on work visas, ranging from occupational trainees to long term temporary visas to regional sponsorship of permanent residency. TBM also helps New Zealand business owners self-sponsor on a permanent residency visa. TBM manages all stages of the application and liaises directly with Immigration on their clients' behalf.
For more information please check out TBM’s website http://truebluemigration.com/ or contact UDV Project and Policy Officer Ashlee Hammond on 9207 5556.

CATTLE UNDERPASS PROGRAM (CUPS)
The VFF is responsible for administering the Cattle Underpass Scheme (CUPS) program on behalf of Regional Development Victoria (RDV), who has made available $2 million through the Regional Growth Fund (RGF), to improve the safety of rural roads through the installation of stock underpasses in regional Victoria.
WHAT IS THE LEVEL OF FUNDING?
As a result of consultation undertaken by RDV and the VFF, the State Government has approved a new funding formula. The new funding formula applies to any underpass construction commenced after 1 November 2012.
The grant equals 33% of the underpass cost up to a maximum of $50,000 plus GST.
The application form can be downloaded here.
For further information on the CUPS program please contact the VFF on 1300 882 833.
Share Farming Toolkit
The UDV/VFF Dairy Share Farming Toolkit is now available to members.
The Toolkit contains a range of resources, including contractual templates that cover Victorian legal requirements and can be tailored to suit individual needs.
This Toolkit is a vital resource for new and experienced share farmers who want to make sure any arrangement they are entering is fair and equitable, and to assist with reviewing and strengthening existing share farming agreements.
The UDV strongly encourages the use of written agreements when entering share farming arrangements. Many of the issues we deal with - and a significant proportion of farm-related legal disputes - arise because of a lack of written agreements, and poor understanding of the implications of various aspects of share farming.
The information and contractual templates in this Toolkit have been specifically developed from a Victorian perspective. While The People In Dairy website also provides some excellent share farming resources, they are designed from a national perspective - however, the documents contained in this Toolkit address some key aspects of Victorian law that affect share farming businesses.
The development of this Toolkit was made possible through generous funding provided by the Geoffrey Gardiner Dairy Foundation, as part of its Community and People Development Program.
UDV/VFF members can purchase the toolkit for $70 plus GST.
Contact the VFF Workplace Relations team on 1300 442 481 to order your kit. Additional advice and assistance with tailoring the agreement templates is also available on a fee-for-service basis.
