Victorian Drought Response Taskforce Update

While recent rain over parts of Victoria was very much welcome for those who received it, we are under no illusions that the drought is over and the impacts will continue to be felt in the months and years ahead. We will continue to deliver this message at the next Victorian Government Drought Response Taskforce when it meets on Friday.

In positive news, when the Taskforce met for the first time last week, our outline of drought support measures was supported and we continue to push government to bolster the support available to farmers and rural communities. In addition, we reiterated that while state support is key, a whole of government approach is needed to unlock more federal government support initiatives, including low-interest loans to provide immediate relief on the ground.

The Taskforce meets weekly and we will continue to keep you updated as it progresses and to push for action on your behalf. To ensure we keep representing your voice, conditions where you are and what you need during this time, we encourage you to COMPLETE THIS SHORT FEEDBACK FORMFeedback questions are based off the VFF’s drought support framework.

We’ll use it to collate feedback right across the state and share it directly with decision makers such as the Victorian Premier, Minister for Agriculture and Minister for Water.

We will continue to keep you updated and in the meantime a reminder that current support and grants resources can be viewed here.
