Our CEO Brendan Tatham met with representatives from the American-based Minnesota Farmers Union (MFU) this morning in Melbourne.
Like us here at the Victorian Farmers Federation, but on the other side of the world, they represent farmers and advocate for the best outcomes for the agriculture industry.
The MFU is a grassroots, member-driven organisation working for family farmers and rural communities. They believe in fair farm and rural policy that guarantees a safe and abundant food supply, provides family farmers with fair prices for their labour, and revitalises rural Minnesota, which is located in mid-western USA.
It was great to discuss the shared challenges of land use, meat processing, farm safety and the opportunities on offer to farmers in our respective countries.
