The VFF Egg Group represents the majority of egg production in Victoria, with members farming across three egg production systems – caged, free range and barn laid. Most of our egg farmers are small to medium sized family businesses. We are recognised as the voice of the Victorian egg industry by government and media.
We collaborate with Egg Farmers Australia and Australian Eggs that is financed by levies on day old chicks paid by egg producers. For information on a national scale, please view Egg Farmers Australia’s websitehere.
VFF represents the interests of all Victorian egg farming systems and have a united voice on many industry issues such as industry Codes of Practice, animal welfare, biosecurity and research and development.
Many of our farmers embrace new technologies to support the industry in moving forward, and the Egg Group is a supportive network for egg farmers. The VFF Egg Group is committed to the long term viability of the Victorian egg industry.
The Egg Group meets twice a year and is overseen by an elected member Egg Committee that is the driving force behind policy development and the direction of the Egg Group.
