The VFF Grains Group’s Annual Conference is this year being held at the Rich River Golf Club in Moama on 23rd and 24th February. The conference theme for 2020 is Future Innovation in Broadacre Cropping.

“The conference will showcase new innovation, practices and technologiesthat can further assist farmers advance their businesses. Other key issues impacting producers such as the Murray Basin Rail Project and short grain trader payment terms will also be discussed,”said VFF Grains Group President Ash Fraser.

“World renowned agronomist Professor Tim Reeves, Professor in Residence, Dookie Campus, Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences, The University of Melbourne, and 2019 Farrer Medallist will officially open the conference and address attendees on the future sustainability of the grains industry”, Mr Fraser continued.

“Other speakers include Dr Mike Walsh, University of Sydney talking about Intelligent Robotic Non-Chemical Weeding, Gary Gale, Digital Agriculture Services, talking about big data and development satellite imagery and the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman Kate Carnell, AO, talking about dealing with insolvencies.”

Speakersfrom GRDC, GrainCorp, Agridigital, John Holland will be attending, along with Grain Producers Australia President Andrew Weidemann and VFF President David Jochinke.

A Gala Dinner will be held on the evening of the 24th at the beautiful Packing Shed Perricoota Station, a historic homestead along the Murray River.
